Samantha

I had a great young childhood with two loving, Christian parents. When I was 9, everything changed. My grandmother passed away unexpectedly and my mom turned to alcohol to cope. My parents eventually divorced and I became depressed. I felt abandoned, unimportant and second to everything in my mom’s life. As a teenager, I began using drugs and hanging out with the wrong people. My drug use and drug choice progressed over the years and I fell into full blow addiction by 18. I put myself in some extremely bad situations- arrests, car wrecks and several overdoses. By the grace of God, I am still here and was able to experience what God had for me at Life Challenge. However, I failed to realize that being saved was about a personal love-relationship with my Creator. At an early age, I began believing many of Satan’s lies. I had a pretty normal childhood and grew up playing sports.  After high school, I became involved with the father of my children.  A couple of years later, we began using drugs together and eventually he began to be physically and emotionally abusive toward me.  To drown out the pain I was in, I began heavily using Methamphetamines.  Thankfully, my family quit supporting me financially during this time and it came to a point where I had no choice but to change my life.  I lost everything.  But God gave me the strength Read More

Leslie

It is impossible to condense everything that Jesus has done for me into a small newsletter, but I do want to share some of my story with you. I was adopted by my grandparents when I was young and they took me and my sister to church regularly. When I was a teenager, both my grandparents passed away. The grief of losing them lead me to a different church that preached the gospel unlike any I had ever heard. It was at that same church that I gave my life to Christ.  However, my life spiraled out of control when I was 22 years old after having a stroke. After my stroke, began to use drugs to cope. Even though I had two wonderful children who I loved deeply, I was unable to break through the horrible cycle my life was in alone. Read More
